Flood Response, Camera Inspection & Drain Cleaning Project – Vancouver
Project Overview
This drainage project in Vancouver began with an emergency response to a basement flood at a residential property. Our team quickly mobilized to assess the situation and implement immediate water management and system restoration steps.
Initial Assessment & Emergency Response
Flood Mitigation: We began by pumping out the standing water from the flooded basement.
Sump Inspection: The sump basin, located at the front of the property, was identified as the root cause of the drainage issue.
Preliminary Diagnosis: A root intrusion in the outlet drain was obstructing water flow, leading to the flood.
Root Removal & Hydro Jetting
Partial Root Removal: We performed an initial root clearing to restore some flow.
Hydro Jetting: High-pressure water jetting was used to clean out the affected drainage lines.
Camera Inspection & System Evaluation
First Inspection: As part of the Drain Cleaning Project, a camera inspection was conducted post-jetting to assess the condition of the drainage system and determine the extent of root damage.
Follow-Up Inspection: During the Drain Cleaning Project, a second inspection confirmed persistent root intrusions in two critical areas:
Between the sump and the property
In the pipe leading to the city’s main
Mechanical Root Removal & Flushing
Heavy Equipment Excavation: We used machinery to access and cut through root blockages.
Drain Line Flushing: As part of the Drain Cleaning Project, a second inspection confirmed persistent root intrusions in two critical areas.
Final Steps & Inspection
Final Hydro Flush: The sump discharge line was hydro-flushed one more time to ensure optimal drainage performance.
System Re-Inspection: We conducted a full inspection of the perimeter and discharge lines to confirm integrity and functionality.
Scheduled Follow-Up: A discounted follow-up camera inspection has been scheduled to monitor system performance over time as part of our ongoing Drain Cleaning Project.
Project Outcome
This multi-step Drain Cleaning Project successfully restored the property’s drainage system, improving flow efficiency and protecting against future flooding.
